The main project objective is to develop a technical and eco-design integrated approach for the synthesis and use of innovative inorganic/polyelectrolytes composites for simultaneous removal of priority&emerging pollutants from wastewater, thus reducing the environmental impacts of materials and of wastewater discharges.
Specific objectives (OS) according to experimental strategy refer to:
- OS1 Design, synthesis, characterization and testing of multi-functional composite sorbents with an inner inorganic core and a complex polyions shell for EPs and PPs removal from wastewater,
- OS2 Monitoring of EPs and PPs and assessment of technical &environmental performances of advanced wastewater treatment,
- OS3 Use of eco-design principles and environmental performances evaluation for the overall innovative material cycle design, synthesis, testing, reuse and end-use,
- OS4 Dissemination of research results at international/ national level; promoting researchers’ interdisciplinary skills and professional development.
